A more user intuitive AH

Post by Halo91 » Mon Sep 09, 2019 5:49 pm

Hey, would be cool if some time was spent on making a more user friendly AH on the site. Coming from Nasomi, it feels slightly spoiling.

Longer list of sold items -- easy to find out if someones trying to manipulate a market
Able to search for either an item or player on the same page
Option to see single or stack prices

just off the top of my head.

thank you for the consideration

couple other requests -- a page that shows your current listed items, on the AH results page have it show how many items/stacks have sold in the past 2-4 weeks

It’s nice to have the website complement some things that are missing in the game but one of the things we try to focus on is an era experience. Because of that the website UI is modeled off of ffxiah.com, just modernized a little bit. Having said that, I do want to keep things in game as much as possible for sake of immersion.

I’ve mentioned it before on several posts but I have an addon I wrote to manage more than 7 listings on the AH but I haven’t finished reviewing the security around it. It’ll be available when I’m confident it’s a secure feature.

In my opinion, two small things would make the web AH great:
1. See if the price is per item or per stack, sometimes you don't really know so the listings you're checking become confusing.
2. See the category where the item can be found, that way we'd save some checks to ffxiclopedia, so playing more in the game itself!
Both things wouldn't ruin game experience with the AH and should be easy to implement.

the only real thing i would love to see is since we can have more then 7 items on AH is just a way to see what we have on the AH past the 7 items. I have memory issues to begin with and this would make AH life a little easier on me if I had a way to see everything I have placed.

Another server has a UI on their website to be able to manage your auction house by sending items back to yourself. Even just being able to send items back to yourself so that you don't have to cycle your AH would be great. I understand that Godmode wants to keep things as Era accurate as possible and that a website interface might not fit into his vision, but being able to list more than 7 items is also not era accurate. However realistically its also just a minor annoyance at best and isn't really game breaking.
